Understanding crying
Having a crying infant or baby can be a real challenge for parents. Expectations of a happy smiling baby fade away and can leave you feeling tired, frustrated and hopeless.
Crying is a way of communication and picking up on your baby’s early cues can help before your baby becomes very distressed.
Sometimes babies just feel grumpy and unsettled because they are hot, uncomfortable or overstimulated. This often happens in situations when parents can’t do too much about it.
There is lots of useful information from the NHS, the NSPCC and PURPLE Crying to help you support your baby when they are upset and crying.
